September, 22 2007 Update

Work as usual this week

It seams like the only thing we have done at the museum this year is tamp. The ballast needs to be set under the ties. Here Art is using the pneumatic tamper, with Adam supplying the ballast as needed.

And we tamped, here with help from our fearless leader Mark.

And we tamped.

The turntable is looking good in a fresh coat of black. Hopefully, if the weather holds, the rest of the painting will be done next weekend.

Bill is threading the original ring rail tie-down to except a new nut.

In some cases the old bolts were too far gone, and holes were drilled for new bolts.

Here is a pair of bolts freshly installed.
